First post... Site opinion and a couple 1995 850 T5 ?'s

Greets all! Great site.. It has already helped me fix my cruise control as well as a couple other things! First off. The car is a 1995 850 Turbo. It is in mint condition and has all the records with it. It is also fully loaded. I flew to Denver and drove it back to Kansas City. It drives great and doesn't show any signs of issues while driving it. There are a couple things I did a search on but couldnt find anything relevant to my issue..... maybe someone can help?

1. I have an oil leak. I crawled under the car and tried to find where it was located. Upon first inspection the whole back side of the engine is coated with a lot of oil. As I looked for the hightes point I noticed that it was mostly concentrated around the turbo. There was a little drip on the bottom of the turbo. It might have sprayed up there. I imagine there was some sort of spray since there was oil all over the place. But the most of the oil concentration was around the turbo. Is there a common problem with turbo oil lines leaking? If so are they serviceable from home without having to remove the engine?

2. I washed the car when I got it home and soon afterwards I noticed that the service light was on. I drove it for about 30 seconds and it went off. Now every time I start it up the service light comes on for about 30 seconds. I ran the codes on it using the service port and it came back 1-1-1 Which from what I read is a no codes message. I also did the clearing codes technique hoping that the service light would not come on anymore but it did not help.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

1) You need to clean the oil off the back side of the engine and turbo area. Use an engine cleaner that is a low pressure type cleaner. You may need to clean more than once, take your time. This will allow you to work on the car and not get as messy and it will let you see where the oil is orriginating from. Most likely it is a oil return line on the turbo.

2)The Sevice Light is a reminder light to get your car serviced. You should have an OBD II system on your 95. It will need to be reset with a code reader that has reset capabilities.

Good Luck,
