Nautic blue is a nice color I had it in a wagon, but certainly not rare. It's never been considered rare, are people suggesting that now?

I've actually seen people mention it a few times. It's only rare compared to black or mystic silver... those seem to be the most common colors on S/V70s. Even so, I see a LOT of nautic blue cars. Never owned one though. Almost bought a complete turd of an M56 S70 that was nautic blue, but the seller wanted too much given the condition. It ended up finally selling to another local enthusiast, so I don't have to worry about it ending up crushed!

I think my favorite p80 color is that light turquoise/teal one, maybe called turquoise pearl? I saw it on a s70 in Salem MA and it looked sweet

Perhaps they are mixing it up with Nautic Blue Pearl?

An older lady nearby is selling a s40 T5 AWD Manual for $1500, 170k miles.

I'm looking for a second car as my fiance and I share my s70 (which at this point should be a fairly reliable vehicle) but I was thinking something newer for her. The other car I've considered was a 08 s40 2.4i fwd Manual, 100k miles, that a shop nearby is selling for $5,000. I spoke to the shop owner and they just put in a new DMF, clutch and I believe timing belt.

From what I understand the t5 AWD manual is a pretty desirable combination so I'm thinking even with the milage if I did a tune up it could be a reliable car, and if we decided to sell it wouldn't lose its value. Back up plan would be to sell it to my cousin since she wants a stick. Figure I could give it to her for cost of the car and whatever parts I end up putting into it.

I guess my question is should I steer clear of an AWD with this milage, even with the low purchase cost?

The P1 AWD cars seem to be pretty solid from what I've seen. None of the issues that plagued AWD P80s. And yes, the T5 AWD M66 is a desirable combo, they are pretty hard to find.

Check the servicing is up to date including the Haldex system service and the obvious timing belt last change.

P1's are hard on front suspension parts for some reason. To change the plugs you have to remove the intake. Not too hard but takes some time.

I like the S40/V50 P1 model but find them a little narrow for my large body.

That’s a sharp colour indeed. Nice light tan leather interior would go well, too.
