I do believe you're right in saying that the addition of the u-brace and a rear brace probably would be equivalent to the full package. I think SIPS in general does enough to reduce flex longitudinally down the sides of the car so I'm not convined the triangular side braces would do a huge deal additionally.

Front subframe to the centre section probably would be a better bet overall, though may create clearance issues by decreasing the approach angle. I have enough issues with scraping already and my car is only 15mm lower than stock. Not going to be as much of an issue for others, but I have very steep driveways and country roads to content with! I'd be interested to see just how much of a difference there is between a front subframe brace that mounts at the front of the subframe versus the rear...makes me wish I still had access to the labs from my postgrad as we had plenty of equipment lying around to test stiffness and rigidity.

Freakin cool, those uprights and the bracing look legit. You don't see a lot of home fabrication for these cars. Let us know how the bracing works out, might be something I'd like to try someday.

This car hasn't boosted quite right since I initially got it on the road with the manual swap, and after pulling the turbo and looking at the manifold, I think I know why. Someone really hacked up the exhaust manifold, and the turbo is on its last legs after 199k miles.
I didn't expect the car to feel as fast as it does. I'm learning that I should drive in lower gears to stay in the power band. But once it gets going it absolutely shreds.

I don't know if the S60R manifold makes a difference, but it's pretty cheap and some people claim it makes a difference. Might be worth an upgrade if the old manifold is trashed anyway?
Cookeh wrote: 08 Sep 2020, 01:47 Jdawg, to deal with the understeer you need a thicker rear ARB. If you're already running anupgraded rear ARB then decrease the thickness of your front ARB a couple of millimetres and that should help to reinstate some neutrality in the chassis handling.
Good call. I am running the IPD bars front and rear. Maybe once I get some new rubber I'll try swapping back to the factory front bar and see how I feel about it. I don't necessarily mind a conservative chassis, but this is like driving CPAC.

Yeah, I'm using a "Japanifold" from the 2001-2004 2.4T/T5. Supposed to be higher flow in the higher revs.

3 ton is a little overkill for the compressor housing, but it works.

Volvospeed had a post comparing all three manifolds; stock T5, Japanifold, and R manifolds. I'm struggling to find it at the minute but it presented flow data for all of them. If I remember correctly, the Japanifold came out on top in a controversial result. The differences between all of them isn't significant to warrant tweaking unless youre working in that area already, though. If you're seeking better flow there are much more significant gains to be had on the intake side (N/A intake + 960 throttle body, for example), which will also have the added benefit of improving throttle response.

Sometimes I love local motor factors. £5 for Bosch air filters, and £4 for FRAM charcoal cabin filters. Im a bit annoyed I didnt check a day sooner, as FRAM air filters were being sold off for £0.97.

Ordered the CHRA last night. Gonna hold off on the billet wheel since I'm planning on the K24 eventually anyway. Now I need to focus on getting the 940 together. Ugh... this car drives me nuts.
