Hello,
Im looking for some advice and insight into a fuel issue with my 2001 V70 2.4t.
Ive had this car for the last 5yrs and have done a lot of repairs and service ...I love this car so I want to find this issue and fix it.
I took the car on a 2.5 hour road trip about a week ago and have generally kept this car as a A-B driver basically for work and around town...not really a long haul car. I generally dont drive it for more than 20-30 mins at a time. So I was a little hesitant to go that far in it but it made the trip there and back with no issues.
I noticed it was running a little rough the next time i got into it a few days later. I thought maybe when i let my son pump the gas he put 87 instead of the usual 91 so I topped it off with 91 to see if that may help.
That didn't really help and i noticed it getting worse. The idle had dropped down below 1000 and was rough at stoplights.
I would push the gas and no response or it was delayed response for acceleration. I actually had to make a couple deliveries that day so I had to stop and start the car at 2 different stops. By the time i got home it was puttering and i had to fully press the gas to get any acceleration. I managed to get home and park to take a look under the hood and check things.
I tried to start it again and i have not been able to start it back up since...it trys to start and almost catches but never does.
Also has a "Engine Service System Urgent" message on dash.
Also when Im turning the key to try and start it flashes ABS brake service required on the message board. Havent any brake issues though.
I have investigated stuff on youtube and some forums.
Its seems it may be the PEM or possibly the fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator.
How should I go about attacking the issues i have???
Any help or insight greatly appreciated.
