Hi,
I have idle issues, I suspect bad throttle body with the bad carbon based wiper potentiometer for throttle position sensor.
I seem to have a hard time buying a 2001 throttle body for a reasonable price and I know that a 2001 is likely to have the same problem as mine.
I was wondering, can I use a later model (but still P2) throttle body, which models/years have compatible throttle bodies ?
As an aside, does anyone have the detailled pinout for the throttle body, how many wires go to it and what does each wire do ?
Is the throttle body controlled by the canbus ? Does it wire directly to the ECU or CEM or some other controller ? (I would like to bench test my throttle body, I would use an arduino to create control signals)
Thanks !
Fitment question, will a 2004 to 2006 XC70 throttle work on a V70XC 2001 ?

The later P2 uses a Bosch throttle assembly completely different than the Magnetti Marelli used on the 1999-2001/4 ( some models retained it through 2004 MY)
They don’t interchange.
Xmodex , is the straightforward replacement.

You can run ETM test if you have VIDA/DiCE.shodanx wrote: ↑05 Oct 2020, 00:15 Hi,

Above information correct. You need a MM throttle body.
It sounds like your situation is perfect for a SACER contactless conversion.
I did my 2001 XC70 and had no issues - no programming needed. My situation was the same as yours. Just take it easy, follow the instructions and read and watch the relevant videos. Plenty of them out there.
You can find them on Ebay for about $130.00 and you will most likely need a TB gasket.
If you go this route - use a hot air gun or hair dryer to help with removing and fitting the plastic piping (if it causes you issues). Also a mirror and an assortment of extenders to get the clamps loose helps.
