Hit 200k today on the V70R. Perfect timing, Hilton FINALLY managed to sort out my tune! I am now, for the first time since buying this car, making full boost every time I hit the throttle. This took WAY too long to figure out... but this car was severely neglected before I had it, so I shouldn't be too surprised. The biggest thing that helped point us in the right direction was setting the wastegate actuator to 5.8 PSI, rather than 4.5 PSI. Interestingly, that's the spec that VIDA lists for the 2000 R. I guess that's wrong.
Next step is to order a Snabb intake pipe to eliminate the vacuum leak I have at the PTC grommet and in the plastic elbow itself right on the turbo inlet.

I fixed a small oil leak on my S70. My oil filter housing was leaking for some reason. First time i noticed it i hadnt driven the car a lot and last oil chsnge was done a year ago. Brushed it off as the seal got hsrd and old. However, leak came back so I ordered an oe filter holder that came with filter.
No more leak. Must have bern a smsll vrack or something thst i couldnt see.
Anyone recognises this? First time i encountered the problem.

It's certainly been a long time coming. Still a little funky (needle bounces around a little between 15-17 PSI) but the important thing to me is that it's making full boost now in ALL gears. In first, I was lucky to see 6 PSI before. Now it'll spool to 15 no problem!
Oh well, the Snabb intake is on the way, so I'll see what I can figure out from there.

Got the drivetrain out of my friend's S60R finally. Between other projects, I was working leisurely over the past few days tearing it down since I'm still waiting on parts to arrive. I gotta say, after pulling so many of these white blocks, it gets easier every time. I was happy to get the engine, transmission, and angle gear out with minimal fighting. I was worried about clearance at first. The ABS pump isn't the greatest thing to work around in the P2 engine bay, but the load leveler is a life saver for helping guide the trans around it. The last time I pulled the whole package out of an S60R, it was at the junkyard and I had no help guiding it out. It got hung up constantly. Then again, that was a rush job trying to cut everything to make it easier. It would have been easier to undo everything the right way!

Now to wait on parts so I can drop the B5244T5 in!

As for my own car, I finally got the X70 clutch pedal for my V70R. I was running an 850 pedal since I did the M56 swap, and while it worked, the clutch pedal didn't return as smoothly as I'd like it to. Now with the proper X70 pedal with provisions for the return spring (and a new spring and seats) it's MUCH smoother. Pretty easy to throw that in, just a few bolts and contorting myself under the dash. I'm glad Volvo still makes the pedal, because I was looking for a used one for a LONG time and came up dry. Ended up biting the bullet and dropping $130 on the pedal and spring hardware from Tasca. Super fast shipping too, I think I ordered it on Sunday and it got here this afternoon. This was after an email telling me that there would be a delay!
If anyone needs the 850 pedal, let me know!

Watch the rating on your crane, Alex. You are over 1/4 ton with that combo. I had to sleeve mine after an ‘ incident’

As you may be able to see, I chopped the handle off mine. It's awful! I use a 24mm socket on my big Milwaukee impact and that works MUCH better.

Yeah, it's probably a bit over the capacity. I'll have to see what I can do to reinforce the crane, because there's no way in hell it will clear the bumper on any higher setting.
