Hardwire Your iPod to Your Volvo
Re: Add an iPod input to many Volvo radios for $0
Yes, I know this is an old post, but it still come up when searching for the HU-611 input. Just wanted to let everyone know that I did the procedure as listed here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... d&start=14 and it works perfectly on my HU-611. NO resistors were needed. And the hardest part was remembering how to put it back together, not the electronic work. Would Highly recommend for the cost of a $3 piece of wire. Only suggestion would be to thread the wire backwards all the way to the card first, so you can just drill a very small hole for the NON-plug end.... Good Luck!

No I didn't try adding any additional parts like resistors. The thought of adding them made my head hurt.

sorry about the bump but i have a problem i can't seem to solve on my own.
I have just soldered and aux input on my SC-815 unit as the picture shows. with a cassette with tape on i can play music great through my phone (very little distortion). But everyone keeps saying in these DIY's that you should remove the tape.
So i opened the cassette and removed the tape, but now the player refuses to play the cassette, it just tries to find any audio for roughly 5 seconds then it spits out the cassette repeatedly, doesn't matter how many times i try. Also tried when i soldered the connection to put the cassette in permanently "load" but i can not seem to figure that out either.
Please help a very confused swede!
