Returning po134 after many 02 sensors ???

Post by donatishane »

Hey, so I have a 1999 v70r, and I now have a po134 code.. bank 1 sensor 1. I have 130k miles , and looking back , the same sensor has thrown and code and been replaced once at 88k and once at 99k. Is there any reason why the code keeps appearing , and is my o2 sensor actually bad ,

When the sensor was replaced, do you know what brand was used? Even Bosch have been known to get copy versions out there.

It is unusual for O2 sensors to go bad that quickly. Last set I replaced as a precaution was at 12 years of age of the car. It is now 20+

That is not to say that bad wiring cannot happen or poor earths or even ECU connector corrosion at this age.

Once replaced with Bosch, the most recent is an oem one I believe . There’s no symptoms of a bad sensor really . Doesn’t smell rich or idle funny .
