Floor pans: New vs. salvaged

Hello everybody!

I am the proud owner of a 1990 240 DL wagon that my wife and I got brand new as a wedding present.

30+ years and quite a bit of rust later, we are in need of a replacement floor pan. It's an expensive prospect, but even at $2000 for labor, it's worth it to keep our baby aloft.

I have a to-be-junked '84 240 sedan, whose floor pan I could salvage -- but getting it out would probably cost more than buying an aftermarket pan.

BUT -- who makes decent floor pans? Is there a difference between suppliers? I've seen them advertised for under $50, but that seems really cheap.

What should I look for (and where) in a quality floor pan?

You are talking about just the driver or passenger floor or one of the back floors?

I don't know of a source, but the key question is good fit. If you or the body man has to trim and hammer to get it ready to weld, you did not get a good floor. You also want weld through pre-primer.

I believe I'll need the driver floor and the left rear (behind the driver).
