Let me guess, you just put a 22 mm on it and screwed it off...

Yup, that's how it usually goes for me too. Life's hard in the south  .

P80s don't have replaceable steering stops like P2s. I guess Volvo didn't think they needed it with their turning radius and wheel options. P2s on the other hand... they need it!

Changed RL caliper for the second time in two years (will be redbuilding this one, but don't have the time currently so had to swap it), and fully flushed the fluid through. The stuff that came out was quite literally black, which is also bizarre as the fluid itself was flushed about 20 months ago. Not sure how I managed to seize two calipers (both seized open!) and destroy brake fluid in 20 months, makes me wonder if there is an issue somewhere...

Fluid flushed with 2L of ATE Typ200. Pedal feel is great, nice and progressive. Brass fittings on the brake lines were a bloody nightmare, as expected. Will be ordering some CuNiFer brake line and steel fittings to replace at some point in the future.

The rebuilts are using cheap pot metal for the pistons and hardware - it rusts very quickly. I had a rebuilt seize up in 18 months on my T5

I do recall seeing posts reporting this, so certainly plausible. I'll be rebuilding this one so I should be able to determine the cause of death.

Does anyone know the ID of the hardlines on the rear of 850s, and the correct size head for the fittings? My car has four calipers from three different remanufactures, yielding four different bleed screw sizes (8mm, 9mm, 10mm, and 7/16ths) To top it off each side of the rear axle has a different hex-size on the fitting (11mm and 12mm) so I really have no idea what should be what.

I wanna say the fittings are 11mm, but don't quote me on that.

Thanks, certainly seems plausible. Pulled apart the knackered caliper today, both pots are completely clean and free of rust/lips. One side of the caliper was sticking due to there being corrosion and a bit of a lip on the caliper bore. I've not really heard of that being an issue, so now I'm unsure if that caliper can be refurbed.

This is becoming a regular thing...

Believe it or not, this is the first time the engine is out of this car.

I believe you can hone the bore of the caliper. You should be able to get it leveled out without increasing the size too much for the piston to seal.

Finally made time to go up and work on all the cars.

Got winters on the 98 v70, had to replace the mirror switch as one of the controls died on me and left me with out of adjustment mirrors
Bled the brake lines on the 99 2.3T, the brake pedal is still hard so I'm thinking that i might need to replace the front brake lines :/
Started and ran the rest of the parts cars for a few minutes to make sure everything is still working.

Goals are to get the 2.3T up to running spec and see if i can find a replacement passenger seat (or repair the motor on the passenger seat as the skin is in perfect condition but a motor seems to have died)
