I've been looking for a decent face shield since March. Unfortunately due to the PPE shortages, the only ones I ever find are the flimsy Covid-proof ones. I want a real one that will hold up to a flying grinder wheel!
Always take precautions while using tools like grinders... I've seen/heard too many horror stories of exploding grinder wheels to use one without eye protection.

Try industrial supply and welding shops for heavy duty face shields. These type of injuries are way too common. One online source with stock on hand.

Grainger used to have them as well. Not sure of stock situation at the moment.

Was gonna get one at Harbor Freight, but I haven't seen one since probably January/February. Northern, Lowe's, and Home Depot only have the flimsy ones. Actually, Northern had the thicker shields, but no head gear for them... kinda useless!
