Spam flood today

This is what it looks like on my end. This is my gmail account:

All the ones with a "DO THIS" blue marker are spam posts on this forum. They've all been held for review, and I'm working through them to delete them. Good posts by good new users don't get held.

In case you're wondering, this is how it works.

• the network (Cloudflare) tries to block bad actors
• the site tries to stop bad registrations
• the site tries to put a hold on bad posts (what you see in that image above)

If you see an actual spam post, it means it got through all three of those layers.

Today's spam flood is an outlier. They're usually not as flood-y as this one. Through logging into my Cloudflare account, I determined they're coming out of France, so I put a challenge (CAPTCHA) to users connecting to MVS from France. So far so good.

Wow, how do you keep up with all that?

It's not frequent when it gets that bad. But phpBB does need better mass user management. The tool should give the option to delete users and their posts en mass.
