Master Window Switch ?

Post by BenF »

Worked fine until a couple of days ago.

Symptoms are as follows. Electric mirrors don't work at all, no LED lights on switch panel.

No child lock LED.

Intermittent no power windows, when they don't work the master switch doesn't operate any windows, the passenger side switch also doesn't work. The switches in the rear doors do still work.

Turning the car off and on again seems to make them all work most of the time.

I guess my question is, do I need to go into a whole world of fault finding and screwing about, or should I just find another switch unit on ebay ?

Edit, 2nd question, they exist on ebay for about $40, they state that they are for the same model and year range and look the same. Are there compatibility issues or is it plug and play ?

2001 V70 XC

Thanks

Ben

Check your part number to see if it's the same, then look at the "What This Fits" tab to see what all models and years will interchange.

Mine was plug-and-play (94 XC-70). Check the connector to the door in the door jamb first. It could also be a CEM problem?
