High Beam Bulb Removal

Post by XC70Rider »

My driver's side high beam xenon bulb finally went at 154k miles. I was able to easily access the bulb connector after removing the air box but still wondering how to get them out. Do you just turn them then pull in some direction?

I replaced the halogen low beams last year and they were easy. I can see to replace the turn signals the whole assembly and bumper needs removal.

I removed the bi-xenon bulbs with the bumper left on. Only had to remove ECM case to reach the right side and airbox to reach the left side.

When I have time next I may remove both headlights so I can throw on glass lenses. I got glass headlights off a 2004 S50 at JY 2 years ago. Not fond of buffing the plastic lens twice a year. I'll throw my OEM plastic headlights and the 2004 S60 glass headlights in an oven at work.

The daytime low beams I replaced last year were modified by PO. He spliced pigtails for 9005 (H10) bulbs. They're supposed to be H11 bulbs.
