Late P80 Wastegate Actuator Bracket Topic is solved

Does anyone know the purpose of the vertical threaded stud on a late P80 wastegate actuator ? It's shown circled in an image that I borrowed from abscate's 99 T5. I'm just wondering if something belongs there; I didn't take photos before removing parts in that area of my 2000. Thanks.

I think it fits into the second aluminized cover that I have seen once in my lifetime, I think.
