Volvoloo is more fun to say. Or maybe T5 Volvoloo. Later photos appear to confirm it was not the Transporter.

The soft brake hoses can collapse internally with no outward indication. Have the soft hoses been replaced? From my mechanic, I understand that hydraulic pressure applied by stepping on the brake pedal is sufficient to apply braking force, but there is no corresponding pressure to release the brakes. In essence, the lines swell shut behind the fluid after it passes through on braking. I have had this happen on front soft brake hoses that were probably original to a MY '99.

Yes, the hose was replaced. I used the wrong terminology in my original post. I said I replaced the line, when I ment the hose from caliper to hard line.

UPDATE--
It was the return line piston in the abs block that was seized.
Replaced the pump and block, because they are a unit, bleed the brakes and everything is back to normal.
