ALPINE carplay in 2001 xc70
Ive ordered this pioneer unit for my 2001 xc70. Anyone fitted an aftermarket radio, what interface did you use to get the SWcontrols working?

MVS member VTL has a Arduino design for interfacing a Kenwood to the steering wheel controls. You can use that as a template for building a interface for your Pioneer. If the Pioneer can be controlled that way. He has the project posted on Github.

Ive chosen the Alpine ILX-702D its quite difficult finding the information i needed, most online videos start with the unit already booted up so info like startup time to reverse camera image, annoying "OK" legal popups everytime you turn it on is hard to choose. Also the overall screen trim size was not available even from Alpine so i took a chance it would fit, and pure luck it fits well.
I recommend this item for anyone wanting a more modern radio in their car, it can even read the canbus climate control and parking sensors on later volvos.
