I’ve previously done a full replacement of outer and inner tie rods on my 2001 V70, and now I need to replace one of my inners again. Based on my previous experience, my reading of VIDA documentation, as well as numerous YouTube videos I’ve watched, there seem to be a multitude of different tools and techniques that can be used to remove and install the inner tie rod. Some probably depends on what you have available as well as the specific manufacturing build of the rods being removed and replaced.
There are at least a few different specialized tools for gripping the tie rod, while others use general purpose tools; some people use a counter hold on the end of the steering rack (either a specialized tool or a general tool), some use no counter hold at all; etc.
Just wondering about the tools and techniques of choice from folks here?
