I believe this is a case (someone correct me if I am wrong) where if the leak is not repaired, the result is only loss of oil and complaints for creating oil slicks. The loss of oil will likely be a predicable rate. With caution you could keep a supply of oil with you and replenish as it leaks. It would be messy where you park (but you could use a pan as suggested) and it would make an oily mess going to the rear from the transmission/ engine. The labor to refill the oil is minimal and the cost of oil acceptable.
