Sometimes with Capital you're bidding against one of the regular scrap buyers. In DC it's Joe Smith and Sons, really big on the crusher scene, and with metal prices up, the basic bid can be closer to $400. Don't know about the Philly branch.
Also, looks like you need to plug your tablet in !
Yeah, those guys bid enough they probably pay no fees. But a scrapped V70 won’t fetch $400, about half that right now.

My guess is they do a part out of easy stuff like alloys, battery, starter, alternator and then scrap. Seems pretty thin though.

I watched the 4pm PHL AUCTION TODAY. Most everything was high miles 150-250k stuff, proxies to $250-450 prior to auction then selling at $500-600. Add another $200 in fees, plus removal as seen fit

There was one 1996 850 that went at stupid money, $2000

My eyeballs fell upon a 1999 S70 in Nautic Blue with 124k which went at $500, 1100 to get home, too steep

Transport cost to me from the DC location is $449. Not too terrible, better than a Copart location at that distance.

Capitals' fees seem to be based on pure hammer price, plus $69 'internet' fee - they aren't doing in-person sales in DC yet, dunno about Philly.

"Price from $0 to $100 = $55" and so forth.

Auction starts at 4, running and driving car, there are no clues why it's in such dire straights.

Not hateful looking except for the scrapes and the rear door thump.

A rollback ride from Philly to Albany would be quite a hike, plus you got Snow up ther...Oh. Wait.
I think about 90% of the country has white stuff now.
My bonus buying from Capital is an old friend picks up the cars in DC and delivers to the banks of the Mighty Nanticoke River here in southern DE.
I wasn't even home when he dropped off the T5 last year. Cost me a twelve pack.

I wish I had one of these low fee auction houses nearby. There are a lot of good deals to be had at these auctions.

Only a day left, and of course, an entire continent away.

The bid is still reasonable as of late. I wonder how that's gonna go.
