Post by ZolpiDem »

Hello all, first post on here but I do browse some.

anyways for my problem, my '94 940 turbo has had an odd fuel gauge issue since I first got it. the gauge would only work in really cold (where I live that's anything below 10 degrees Fahrenheit) weather, and would immediately stop working again as soon as the car warms up. I have already ruled out the fuel sender and what's left is either a ground or solder joint on the cluster itself. However, I currently have the cluster out and I, nor anyone else that looks, cannot see a bad solder joint anywhere on it (in fact some of them look RE soldered). I'm at a loss right now without tearing everything down to find it. if anyone could give any pointers, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hook the DIM up then chill the electronics components with a refrigerant one by one. When the Fuel Gauge starts working you located the problem.
