1988 740 turbo start/stall problems

I have a 740 turbo 1988 that was resting for about one year. I would regularly start it up. At about six months into rest it would start quickly and would just shut off. I'd tart it back up and after a few minutes and it shuts off again.
Well, now I've reached the 1 year mark and decided to use the car. I went to start it and it would try, but just wouldnt go. I replaced the fuel with fresh gasoline. Started right up, but it would missfire. I cleaned the spark plugs (they were black). It starts sometimes but smell of fuel come from the intake. I'ts like if it were flooding. When I start it from cold it stars right up. I accelerate it and it stalls.
Any suggestionas?
