Blind Spot System Chime
Hello! I have a 2011 XC70 T6 with factory BLIS that I find very helpful. However my partner recently got a 2014 MDX and his blind spot chimes as well as illuminates when you turn the blinker on and someone is in your blind spot. I REALLY wish mine did that, so I am hoping to add that function. My thought is to add a generic 12v electronic buzzer, like a headlight on reminder chime. But instead of wiring the chime to the headlight and interior light, that would cause the chime to sound when you leave the headlamps on and open the door, I would wire one end to the BLIS light, and the other to the turn signal. My thought is that the chime would sound when the BLIS light (headlight) is on and I activate the blinker (open the car door). Does this sound right? Let me know your thoughts/suggestions. Thanks!

Update: I was able to successfully achieve this mod. Now when the BLIS light is on and I activate the turn signal, there is a beep that sounds. This was super easy and required no alteration to the factory systems. I only needed the following items.
1. A chime alarm (1 for each side.)
2. A horn relay( 1 for each side.)
3. 22 gauge quick connectors.
4. Female insulated wire connectors
5. Some 22 gauge wire.
I was able to do the whole mod for under $40.
The system only beeps (or chimes) when both conditions are true. That is if the BLIS light is on, but I do not have my turn signal on, then there is no sound.
If I have my turn signal on, but the BLIS light is off, then there is no sound.
If the BLIS light is on AND I activate the corresponding turn signal, then the Beep will sound.
This means that if my passenger BLIS light is on and I turn on the driver side (left) turn signal, there is no sound.
This is why you need 2 chime alarms, and 2 relays. One set for each door.
If anyone wants more info on how I was able to do this, I'm happy to share. However, I will not entertain comments about why/ how this is helpful or anyone would want to do this. Obviously I find it helpful and that is enough for me.
