IPD sway bar end links

Post by ylwgto »

Replacing the struts on my XC90. Its a R design 3.2. Considering replacing the sway bar end links (front and rear) while wrenching.

Are the R design sway end links beefier than the standard 3.2? The current ones look ok, but I see the IPD units are very beefy and the R design has slightly larger diameter sway bars. Will this offer any improved road feel/handling over existing end links?

Going with Bilstein B4 struts rebuilt with all new stock strut bits and 33 springs. Not working on rear suspension, but could add the IPD end links if worthwhile.
thanks!

Opinion only, I've removed 2 full sets of IPD end links from my vehicles and gone back to OE. They look great but do not perform as well over time as the Volvo part.
