2007 S40 2.4L Non Turbo
Had a no start issue (Battery and Alternator are not the issue) and when removing the starter I found this wire was not attached. I have no clue what it is and haven't seen a connector like this before (I assume its broken off). Additionally the wire in the second picture is possibly coming from that connector and going into the harness for the starter. Is there a chance this is the reason the vehicle wouldn't start?
What is this?

The part with the wire bail spring is the "female" connector. Push on the spring and the other part can be pulled out. It is broken off from the PCV oil trap. I don't have a S40 just some older x70 turbos. Look at the FCPEuro Youtube video at around 18:40 minutes. You will see your "male" connector mounted on the PCV oil trap.
