Speculation on my part: Volvo may have used different rubber compounds for various engines and transmission combinations in attempts to optimize vibration and harshness damping. These mounts might very well look the same and fit the same. They may not even be noticeable difference in vibration to most people.
I do not know this as fact, it is only speculation.

I think the reason your mount is different is due to the car having an AW55. My V70R being an AWD originally, it had a completely different mount than the FWD AW55. My S70 is an earlier car (637647), and it's an AW50-42 GLT, so it has the older style mount.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think this may be the same as the 2001-2004 C70. I'll pass this onto one of my P80 guru buddies. He most likely has a definitive answer for the mount you need.

I was able to buy the mount from Volvo of Dallas. They searched around and found one on someone's shelf. Sadly I don't think the next time will be as simple. I'll post up some dimensions when I get it in case someone wants to compare to other mounts.

Correction. Volvo of Dallas could not get the part from their supplier and refunded me my money. So at this point I do not have a path forward for the rear mount. Not sure whether I should buy a rear mount from another AW55 model car, or go with the older P1 rear mount from the 4 speed auto.

I would probably just buy one of each from FCP, then return whichever one doesn't work. That would be the easiest way to figure this out.

I ordered a mount for a 2001 V70 NA AW55. Will see if it fits.

Should have known you'd end up with a roundabout (circumferential) way to figure out the shortest distance across.

So the short story is the 2001 V70 NA AW55 does fit. The long story is it is not the same as the original mount which has a peculiar pin tab position that is clocked 45 degrees off from the normal position. There is also a half moon washer that fits between the mount and the transmission bracket that gets clocked 45 degrees off of the correct position when using the 2001 mount. However, these minor differences do not seem to add up to anything major. I did have to remove the bracket from the transmission because I could not jack up the engine high enough to get the new mount in, but that was a minor thing as well

Now I think the 2001 C70 rear mount for the AW55 5-speed auto looks to be the correct part even though it is catalogued as p/n 9434435 (which is wrong as that's the old standard mount) but the real part number Corteco 601775 (FCP SKU CTO-601775) appears to be the real deal.

Interestingly, the original mount had completely separated into 2 pieces so it was well and truly done and replacing it along with the front and passenger side mounts has resulted in an amazing reduction in vibration that we had all just gotten used to over the years.
