Lowest price 850 I've ever seen (Hot Wheels)

How much would you pay for a "factory fresh" red 850 wagon? This doesn't cost $1,250, not even $125. It could be yours for only $1.25!!

I was at the grocery store focused on getting food while avoiding people. I barely knew why my subconscious jumped for joy until I did a double take on the isle end cap (which I always ignore) and saw this red beauty hanging there. I momentarily considered not buying it for fear of cluttering up my life. No, of course I needed it.

Since Hot Wheels finally made a boring station wagon, they have issued a few paint color variants. Now I want to find the gold and yellow ones. Maybe for 2022 they'll release my old Nautic Blue and my new Green (emerald something or other?). Or Laser Blue!

Post a picture if you find one out in the wild.

I've got a handful of Racing livery and red 850 Hot Wheels. Just stumbled on the reds while my son was digging. With several swoopy exotics in hand, he looked at me like, "You want that?".

The racing livery ones apparently came out in 2020. I would love the white/blue version which we always see in that classic picture of it taking a corner with two wheels off the ground. But that gold one...

But wait, there's more. Also for 2021, Hot Wheels has released five wagons in their "Car Culture" line for adult collectors. This contains the yellow 850 and a green P220 Amazon wagon. But where to find them and the higher priced gold 850?

And yes, wagon fans, there's even more. Matchbox has released 1980 Mercedes Benz W123 wagons over the past few years. They include an ugly green, faded yellow (for 2021!), and rather nice blue (missed it in 2020).

Perhaps kids out there will pick up these "weird short SUVs", get hooked, and some day want wagons of their own.

"Honey, I bought another car."
"Is it another busted old Volvo?"
"Nope, it's Factory Fresh!"

My tiny stable is growing. I went to a Target and saw they carry the "Car Culture" expensive Hot Wheels. Yet, the designated racks were empty save for a Porsche 911. I'll have to check back often looking for the Gold 850! And the 122 wagon. And the old Benz wagons. This could be a problem...

Today, I had three of these yellow wagons in my hand. I took one but was sure to put the other two at the fronts of the lowest racks, most visible to the kids. Come on kids, you know you want a sweet wagon!
