It's been around 8 years since changing 2 of those. I do remember the OE differed in design and all 3 differed. I don't remember the OE or the URO collapsing into itself. Since the chugging has started it won't be long for that to get worse. Being the upper mount though a torque mount is also in bad shape it would best to take care of both to reduce the stress on the remaining mounts.
Here are more photos for comparison. That gap is a gap for sure!

Not sure what the chugging is that you guys describe, but I changed the upper Mount. Only took 5 minutes because I didn't have to press it out, just pulled it out by hand. Anyway, the odd noise I could slightly hear is now gone. I will look into changing my other mounts. Are uro ones ok? From what I gather, I have 5 mounts left to address, the rear dogbone mount on the firewall, rear lower left trans mount, front trans torque strut, front engine round mount, and the right engine mount that I pictured earlier.
The rubber mount I just changed out was a Volvo part.

The lower right mount is probably the most important one so going with a good one is worth paying up for. I have had a couple of aftermarket ones just detach the rubber portion from the metal part they are supposed to be bonded to. That happened as quickly as 6 months!!
Good luck!
Neil.

The new mount might have help bring the front engine mount position up slightly. The rubber looks a little worn and has sagged. With time it will bottom with subframe making the chugging / knocking noise at idle. Stay away from URO parts.
Didn't know Volvo made Blue Poly Upper Engine Mounts?

I had lifted the URO replacement up with a pry bar and inserted a thick rubber radiator hose underneath to prolong / keep the sagging rubber material from further collapsing. Should have inserted something much stronger to see how much longer the mount would last and if it added any interior vibration?scot850 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2021, 16:29 The lower right mount is probably the most important one so going with a good one is worth paying up for. Don't recall seeing many URO parts on FCP anymore.
