Don't Ask This Kid

What's the difference between shooting a bank robber and a bank robber shooting those in the bank? Well, one is excessive force and the other is the guns fault.

Don't try this on kids with a sound mind and reasoning skills.

Guns don't shoot people dead. Gun owners shoot people dead.

Solution: Shoot all the gun owners ... problem solved.

I'm glad you advocate gun ownership and it's use but who will shoot the criminal gun owners who are shooting responsible gun owners trying to protect themselves with their guns? Besides, I don't think any criminals would want to participate in a circle shoot.

We cannot have gun owners shooting gun owners that would be an infinite loop.

Solution: Shooters do not own government issued.

The more I think about your first two sentences the more I agree with you. First you recognize that the gun is just an instrument. It is the person behind the instrument that does the criminal act / murder. So that means you believe in personal responsibility and don't shift blame on the gun and in that case any instrument to harm others.

If your neighbor comes to your rescue with a tire iron and kills someone car jacking your Volvo and hurting those you are with I believe it would be justifiable to you I hope. I watch a talk show years ago where a father said he is a Pacifist so he will not act with force to protect his property and loved ones if they were attacked. I don't believe you are not that kind of person.

Where we differ is the gun being singled out as a bad instrument and those with the bad instrument must go. Owning such warrants death "Shoot all the gun owners". Many societies do not have gun ownership so what if the instrument of choice becomes a knife or bat or...? I rather have someone tell me I'm being car jacked and use a gun as the threat instead of some chemical because baseball and apple pie are politically incorrect due to a banning of bats in society with knives long gone.

Knives don't slice people. Knife owners slice people dead. This happens all the time in China and the targets are mainly children unless it is politically motivated then it is at the crowd train stations. The Mass Knife Killings usually result in greater deaths and wounded then with guns. Easier to wrestle a gun than a knife in close quarters.

Slice and dice all knives owners... problem solved. You only need to qualify criminals with instrument as the person responsible and many would agree with your capital punishment. Include rapist, child molesters in the capital punishment when found guilty. Even criminals will deal with these in jail when our justice system won't.

Perhaps I didn't understand you correctly? Are you saying all gun owners or just criminal gun users? Majority of gun owners do not murder but a few have killed in self-defense.

I was taking a pop shot at the moot argument guns don't kill people, people kill people.

The gun is call the equalizer because it can turn a wimp and a coward onto a killer. Without the gun they stay harmless wimps and a cowards. Without a gun how many of the mass shooters would of be able to pull it off ... zero. Idiots cannot do a mass shooting without a gun.

All this talk about responsible gun owners. Lets go with that.

How about this: All guns must be registered and the owner is responsible for it. It is the owner's responsibility to secure it. Keep it in good condition. Follow safety guidelines. If anything happen with the gun the owner is held criminally responsible. None of that "it got stolen", the owner is responsible for securing it. None of that "it just went off", owner is responsible for keeping it in good condition. None of that "it was an accident", owner is responsible for following safety guidelines.

Lets quit talking about "responsible gun owners" and start holding gun owners responsible.

Well forget guns! It's simple... if you are a wimp as RickHaleParker puts it and wish to kill the multitudes, simply get a 70's Continental Town Car and plow as many pedestrians till your heart is content! No gun, knife, or anything else needed... Substitute any real American car, or perhaps a 240 wagon for the Continental! Just the Continental at 5,000# and 460 under the hood with its great roaring sound will terrify those pesky people as you wipe them out😀🏁🏴‍☠️

Now in all seriousness, i thought MVS had rules about political subjects?! June

I think your example has been used already in recent years and some with a much larger vehicle while heavily accessorized to inflict greater casualties. I'm not the sharpest on this history but it didn't seem to be an issue years ago. Regardless, everything can be turned into politics and everything is political because the ability to think critically went out the door in the 1950's as stated by Matt in another post. The relativism of everyone has a right to be right is now I'm more right than what you say is right. The this is my truth also comes to mind.

Since, there is the freedom and it's still a right to bear arms I don't get into any discussions with people on this nor look at either sides of the conversation as again We The People still have the right to choose how we want to protect ourselves. Maybe someday I'll exercise that right to a bear arm as I have wimpy arms and more so as I age?

I just found that logic about the homework interesting and you got the idea which took someone else to explain to me  . Again, political only if people want it to be. I'm not triggered by either sides of the conversation and I hope people will always get to exercise that freedom to choose how to protect themselves. Under Disallowed, I try not to disrespect others when discussing anything is where I hope keep myself on this Forum and in everyday life. Thanks June.
