Hello, hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will make quick work of this:
#1. The larger hose with the crack is the fuel tank vent hose right? (Part #: 3531434). I can't quite find the smaller one, though it seems like it may not be available. Looks like it goes into a metal line a short ways down and may be able to be replaced by a generic fuel hose? Also, yes, I am also replacing the filler neck clamps.
#2. This broken one right next to the fuel filter. I'm not having luck tracking this one down. Surprisingly between these two hoses, I have no CEL (light isn't burned out!).
I may end up dropping the tank to fix these and anything else up in that area. Open to suggestions on any additional parts to gather if I were to do that. I'm kind of assuming that basically everything on this car is broken.
Thanks!

I know that on my ‘94 some of those hoses above the tank have a different diameter at each end, so a generic hose won’t work. I would double check that.

I think 23 is the only gotcha part there, with a 19x 13 ID size change
Ed.. as payfoward for recent sheparding duties , let me know if you need Gates barricade fuel line for any of this work. I bought rolls to redo the S70 so have it in ample sufficiency. It’s expensive, like $6 a foot in short pieces, but it’s the stuff of Champions

Luckily I think that hose is still available. As for the others, not sure but I'll let you know, thanks!abscate wrote: ↑16 Apr 2021, 03:56 I think 23 is the only gotcha part there, with a 19x 13 ID size change

That's what I needed! Today I learned what the roll-over valve is, thanks. I guess in my 2000 XC it's a bit more sophisticated, but this one seems mechanical and pretty simple. I'll yank it out and replace the hoses.jreed wrote: ↑16 Apr 2021, 05:34 I've replaced the hose shown in image #2... More detail available here:

I'm assuming it's possible to replace the length of the hose without dropping the tank or anything?

Tank drop on a FWD isnt bad if you get the gas out of it first. Its light. 30 minutes IIRC, and then you can get to EVERYTHING!
A friend of mine told me you might be good at tank drops. He used to tame Wlld Weasels in the 1960s

Wish I could post pics for ya, but I haven’t dropped the tank on my ‘98 parts car yet. From what I hear, it is pretty easy to do though. I’m not looking forward to removing everything on the R when I finally swap the FWD rear end in... the multi link looks like a pain!

Thank you all! Seems like it's pretty straightforward on the FWD. I may end up just doing that to get a good check over everything. This car was in such rough shape, I'm trying to leave no stone unturned.

Just last week I dropped the tank on my '95 wagon. I was less than thrilled at the idea because I had stored it with a full tank of fuel. After siphoning the fuel out through the now removed fuel pump at the top of the tank...it was surprisingly straight forward.
Just remember to unhook the wiring going to the fuel pump, fuel level sender and the two fuel lines (return line and delivery line). I had little trouble getting the filler neck unsealed at the fuel door area. Remove the gas cap first.
Three bolts hold the two straps in place. I removed the two rearward ones first. The last bolt held the two straps and the tank in place until it was removed. All that was left was the one forward bolt and get ready to catch.
Surprisingly simple for one person.
