OBDII reader ELM327 - 2004 S40

Post by adikoni »

I recently purchased an OBD II reader ELM327 USB for my S40. (mostly due to the annoying thermostat engine light reappearing) I have not received it yet but it should be any day. I will post my adventures with it as soon as it's good to go. Does anyone else have one of these? Good software recommendations? Tips etc? Please post it here.

Code reader or not, for the thermostat light to keep coming on, either your thermostat or coolant temperature sensor is bad. You'll probably get a code for one or the other and it'll be time to replace both. Yes, I would go ahead with both while you have the thermostat housing open....cheap parts....good prevention.

True, true. Getting it done this weekend. I'm still looking for some good software tho. BTW just installed HID lights and I am extremely pleased with the results. If anyone needs a hand I'll be happy to help. I'll post some pics of my ride soon
