Re: DDM-0049 sets limp home mode?!!

The control module "Limp Home" program has been initiated.

This is under the heading "Substitute Value" for the DDM door control module error DDM-0049.

This suggests that when an error with the door module occurs, the car will be set to limp mode by design. Given this is door mirror, window and perhaps lock control, I do not see why the car should be set to limp mode.

I note that part of the display shows Previous operation cycle which has an error, but Current operation cycle appears ok. Is the issue now resolved?

This might not happen again or could be the first sign of a failure in the door wiring, or the door module.
Just got an accelerator pedal (OEM) to replace.
First, I need to read the pedal function in VIDA to check the current function, before replacing with the new one.
Would you by any chance know of any link of the right instruction in reading the VIDA/DiCE unit? I was looking for a link out there.

Just wondering why a door module would enact a "limp mode"?
Thanks!
