On the weekend we had some heavy rain. Next day greeted by a splash of water that was sitting on the door sill when opening the passenger door, and the carpet was wet.
Tested the sunroof drain and the drain around the air intake for the cabin air fan by pouring water in these areas. Both fine and drained as expected.
Poured water on all visible gaps around the door but didn’t see water coming in.
The draining holes on the underside of the door were also free.
Any ideas where the water might have come in?

I had a passenger side flood after a very heavy rain on my old no sunroof '05. Clogged plenum drain leading to overflow on the cabin fan intake cowling (dried out gasket). https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/sunr ... st-4415369, can see the photo link for visuals. Yogurt foot smell was the giveaway. Probably not your issue but might good to shine a light down the mesh on either side of the windshield to check.

Found the culprit, as usual after a lot of swearing. Only when sealing off the drain with tape and having water standing, it started sipping through into the blower motor. There seems to be an internal seal within that black cover that allows some leaking through. Perhaps helpful for anyone who is trying to find the leak. With the usual spraying water on the car I couldn’t find the leak. The water had to be standing. Next I will seal the cover with flexseal.

Clogged drain and standing water to overflow was indeed my problem in 2016. Vehicle was parked under a pine tree for almost 10 years before it happened, I never bothered to look under the windscreen bottom cover. Odd set of circumstances with a heavy rain and an odd parking angle that led to my flooding, gasket was hardened and offered no seal when the water rose.

I had to do the same clean-and-seal in my V70, with good results.
