Want to clean my throttle body

Had her towed to the dealer Friday afternoon. Spoke with them about 4:45 today...confirmed it was the throttle body and are waiting for authorization from Volvo to replace it!!!

I think you mean the electronic throttle module (ETM), but anyway, that's good news. Let's hope they don't yank you around and go ahead with it under warranty.

The guy I talked to said "throttle body". I believe he did mean the Module. I don't take too well to being "yanked" unless of course

Got my S80 back $0.00!!!!!!!

Codes ECM 9150 / ECM 9160 / ECM 91A7.......these must be the embedded codes that JRL mentioned, that could not be pulled up with a generic scanner. Anyone know what these mean??

The throttle response is MUCH better than it has ever been during my short ownership. A friend of mine pulled up beside me in his 92 Chevy P/U 454ci...was he surprised!

That is the first time I've done that. I know the tranny wasn't built to handle a lot of that kind of stuff. But hey, you gotta enjoy it every once in a while, right!!

Failed ETM test..installed new ETM and reload software.

I got your pics...Thanks! Amazing accident in the 850 your son had. He and his friend were very fortunate to be in a Volvo! Glad you got your issues with the S80 sorted. Guess your wife is much happier now to have her daily driver back!

I would like to see those posted. People need to see that Volvo safety and "Volvo for LIFE" are more than mere words. My son has a tattoo to "commemorate" his accident and survival....included are a partial 850, Volvo logo, and Mother Mary.

If it is possible and not too much trouble, could you possibly post them? I have figured out how. I can email pics but can't get the hang of posting. Seems every site is different to me.

I can post them for you but it is actually very easy. As you begin a post you'll see the "imageShack Toolbar" window under where you are posting. You just use the browse button and find your pictures on your computer, then click "host it!" This will take you to the site where it is stored. Just copy the last link on that page and paste it back here. Clicking the "Img" tab (at the top) before and after the link that you paste will make it appears in your post. Hope this makes sense. If you still can't figure it out, send me the pictures again, but larger (your pictures were a bit small to see details) and I'll post them in a new topic in the General Discussion section.
