headlight assembles

Has anybody replaced their headlight assemblies with the TYC units off of Rockauto? Wondering how they were as far as quality & light output. I know jewels off of a C70 are the preferred but they are hard to find & expensive. Thanks.

I purchased a set of brand less aftermarket assemblies from IPD and I like the quality. The light output with factory bulbs was not great but maybe I'm ruined by modern lights. It could also be the reflectors.

TYC stuff is generally not too bad. One of the better aftermarket manufacturer. Buying used OE ones of this age are probably going to be worse. You can of course keep the original glass lense covers as they and the seals should be transferable. The main difference with most aftermarket units is they don't have the same level adjustments as the OE. They will probably be fine and no worse than OE but at a more affordable price.

I have these in the 98 wagon. About a couple years old now, they are fine and holding up well so far.

I opted for the European lenses but my passenger side headligh does not adjust vertically as far as it should. IPD never answered my emails about it so I assumed I was on my own. So far it hasn't been a problem but I might open it up and see what the problem is.
