more issues with my new 01 V70 --- NO HORN!!! AND OIL LEAK

Post by jschickv70 »

well I am finding some other issues with my new 01 V70, minor but things I need to fix.
1 my horn does not work, i did a quick look and the fuse is good, but on the drivers side by the headlight thier is a 4 wire plug just hanging their not plugged into anything? should thier be a extra plug their? It looks like I need to remove the grill to get to the horns, any ideas or know horn problems. Cruise and all steering controls work.

2ond I have a oil leak that I can't tell where from, its under the car and I will need to remove the lower shield to see anything, I understand the turbo lines are common, anyother places to look? from the top it looks good and dry?

well not sure if I was lucky or not, but solved my oil leak (the drain plug was loose) lucky i didn't loose it, and the horn was unplugged, not sure why?? but it works. I did unfortunalty discover both my lower control arms are bad, the bushings are totaly shot!! so I need to find a source for parts, Euro parts has them for about $109 but without the ball joint, anyone seen them cheaper?

I don't think anyone here would reccomend cheaper than $109/each control arm. I've had horrible experience with build quality with less-than-oem suspension parts. It will cost a lot to have those replaced, probably 4-5 hours of shop time... I would get quality oem so that you don't ever do this repair again. Many people (including me) have learned the hard way.
