Brake Pressure Switch

Post by AlanKot »

Hey guys,

So my brake pressure switch is shooting fluid out. I cant find a replacement one anywhere. It seems that everyone is either out of stock or its discontinued. I check with FCP and Eeuroparts obviously. Any suggestions where to find one? I'd like to go with new.

1998 XC70

Thanks guys

Have you watched Roberts video? In it he suggests a Volkswagen switch. Maybe worth a watch to see if it looks the same:

I watched it a few times but I didn't hear anything about a Volkswagen switch. I will look into it though.

As you say, the part is obsolete. Are there any parts yards near you? Otherwise try Erie Vo-Vo and see if they have a used one.

Hey guys I wanted to let you know that I ended buying a used master cylinder with a switch in it locally and all is good now. Thanks again!

Bumping this old thread out of curiosity as to whether anybody has found a substitute. The used switch I put in only lasted a couple of years. Was there actually a VW equivalent? This switch has the right appearance on the threaded end:

The link says Audi, but the description says BMW. For search and reference purposes the discontinued part number is 9173210.
