For the past few weeks my dashboard lights have not been working when the headlight switch is turned to the "on" position. So figuring out my speed at night has been super fun. Anyway I decided to tear apart the switch and clean it up. A little cleaning with light sanding and new dielectric grease has fixed the problem. Free fix if anyone needs it. Warning, the plastic housing will break when trying to free the tabs. Here are some pics of the before and after.

Added more stuff to the engine. Now just waiting for the head gasket and some miscellaneous other parts.

I'm getting closer. The anticipation is killing me.

What is wrong with the tank so that you will replace it? I decided to replace mine because it looks brittle in the area that you photographed, but nowhere else.

This car has spent 18 years in saoudite Arabia. So each time I can, I play security. The goal is to keep it as secured as possible. When I will be retired, I don’t wanna specially do hard job on it.

98 V70 with 293k: Changed the fuel pump in a parking lot 1700 miles from home. Had to buy a voltmeter otherwise I had what I needed with me.

Thanks abscate for the tech support!

FYI this car was throwing recurring P0172 codes for a few days before the pump completely died. Changing the fuel pump got rid of the code.
