Use a T55 bit to remvoe the big torx screw in the middle of the hub. That screw is basically an oil cap. Then there is another, longer t55 bolt directly behind. Remove that bolt and then you can pull the hub straight off the camshaft end.

Yes, that's what I did.
Thanks you.

1. From the above image, is the adapter (#4) for a different model. My original Oil Trap has a short hose with two torx clamps.

2. This is a good time to ask this question. Coolant. I have different cars that require or originally had different coolant colors from each other. Now that I have the XC am currently working on, with all coolants drained. Can I use a universal/All Model coolant on this Volvo?

Cheers

Looks like the valve is bad, being a valve. I had wanted to just put it back there and don't worry about it so it won't interrupt my work. Reluctantly, I will order it.
The new valve just arrived. I blew in it and the air went both ways. How come it's called a "valve"?
Does it become a "valve" with temperature; I guess. It means the one in my oil sump is good.
Since I just got a new one, I'll install it and keep the old one for the other '01 XC.
Anyone know why I can blow through it both directions?

Cheers

Hello folks,

Removed the camshaft locking tool. On the rear, exhaust, there is a cup that is screwed into the shaft.
What letter goes where?

Thanks.

You said, "when correctly positioned". You mean when the teeth D-E matches groves A-B (or B-A rotated are 180 degrees)?

So you mean, i can install it in the orientation in the picture, or, at 180 degrees of that and it will align itself?
How about the bolt that will be tightened in the middle?

Thanks

You will not be able to install the tool incorrectly. You'll see what that means when you try to.

As already suggested, bolt each half onto the camshaft individually and then rotate them to align the halves, then bolt the tool together.

There is no way to get it wrong except for not getting the tool teeth in the cam notches.
The tool will align the cams correctly upside up or upside down.
