Apparently I need a "master" fuse, located within the dash.

A couple of weeks ago I had to replace the check engine light bulb (and asked them to check on the dash lights also). Both items were taken care of, although they had to by-pass something that controlled the dimmer part of the dash lights, in order to get both taken care of that day. I did pass smog and got tags, so I was happy.

A week later, returning from Elk Grove to Sacramento @ dusk, I turned my dask lights on & was happy that they worked (super bright, but okay). Then once I was on the freeway, looked at dash and the only thing working were the dash lights - couldn't tell how fast I was going, how much gas I had, what the engine temperature was, etc. My mechanic @ SVS said there would be no charge to "re-open" the dash and he'd let me know what they found was the cause.

I asked how much this special fuse was & he didn't know & said he'd call me as soon as he ordered it and let me know. Can you tell me how much this fuse will probably cost? Thanks for helping me out w/the check engine bulb which included a picture that showed how to take it out, etc. Looking forward to hearing from someone on this new question!
