No worries, I managed fine. But I literally ordered the new headlights the minute I got home, because I didn't want the girls getting into a possibly dangerous situation when they drive the car.
Now I am also looking into upgrading the headlight bulbs, they are not exactly powerful.

I have a friend here in MT who has that same car - 4-door, white, cloth seats, plus manual, that they bought new in CT. They've had it ever since.

How did it do rust wise? The few that I still see here in our neck of the woods all have sadly suffered various stages of decay.

It looks really good from a distance. They baby it and it lives in a garage, but it commutes to work and has ski racks on it.

Last night I was flipping through the owners manual of the 240 and found a few very exiting features. I had wondered why this one doesn't have the little arms sticking in for adjusting the mirrors. I thought it was silly that I had to open the window and push on the glass. Well duh! It came with powered mirrors that have tiny little switches in the center console. Not the most intuitive spot but hey, we are talking about Swedish Engineering here.
I also found out that the driver seat is height adjustable. That's a biggy. My girls are all going to drive this car and they are on the petite side. My younger one drove it last weekend and had to use a cushion, not anymore.

Today I put another set of wheels on it. I am not really a fan of the dinner plate wheel covers, so they had to go. My preference would be deep dish steelies with chrome hub caps, but they are nowhere to be found. These used to be quite popular in Europe in the eighties, especially in Sweden, but I can't find them now. Some Bertone rims also look quite good, but they are also not really available.
I had some S70 wheels on the rack that were previously on Harold the 850. They have a little lip and therefore look a little old fashioned. I had ordered the 1 inch wheel spacers from IPD so that these would fit.
Anyway, I'm happy with how they look:

A check engine light on a 1992?

Do you read codes out by LED flash??

Yes, CEL is on, and I believe you read codes by pushing some sequence on a button on a little box in the engine compartment. I have yet to find this box though :shock:

Right now I am focusing on doing an instrument cluster overhaul with new odo gears, temp sensor bypass and new bulbs.
