No start
New starter installed, new alternator installed, battery professional checked, still no start, very sluggish .. what can it be??? I checked codes ,all's clear 111, 2 weeks prior to my car not starting the check engine light went out, and I drove for 2wks. then I parked it because my radiator hose blew, I replaced the hose. and still no. Start. What.... When trying to turn over it's very Sluggish ... What's wrong with my beloved volvo I don't mean to confuse but the reason my hose blew was I had a manifold leak and she got hot. I've fixed the manifold leak.

First thing. Have you tried a battery booster attached to the battery to see if the engine turns over faster? If it does you could have a bad earth/ground cable. There are several around the engine bay so have a good look around and check none are disconnected or broken.
Check for corrosion on the main battery -ve lead and where it mounts under the battery tray to the inner fender.
Is the starter/alternator parts all new or junkyard parts. Are the parts from well known brands? I have had faulty new aftermarket parts and badly rebuilt units.
I am more concerned that your radiator hose burst. Did the engine get really hot on the gauge? If it did you may have damaged your engine and cooked the bearings. Hopefully this is not the case.
Neil.

Pull the oil dipstick. Does it show overfilled?
If so: Drain the oil and watch for water in the bottom of the crank case. Water is heavier then oil it will sink to the bottom and come out first when you pull the plug.
Pull the Spark Plugs and turn the engine over. There maybe water in the cylinders and you are on the verge of Hydrolocking. The water reduces the size of the combustion chamber and pushes the compression ratio way up high. The starter does not have enough power to spin a high compression ratio fast.

I hope Rick is not right. I did not want to suggest this as that is a major failure. Let's hope not!

Thanks Scott, after my radiator hose busted I did the flex tape and drove to where I could park it,about a quarter mile. I then went and started her a day and then 2 days later.,after that nothing. I got her towed home with AAA. Could one of the vac.lines be hooked up wrong? Like a dummies I didn't take a pic. and had to wait for my new starter,I thought for sure that's what it was. My alternator is new,a Bosch off Amazon .I'm really stumped. As for the charge I did what you said yesterday. Still sluggish. I let it charge completely outside the car after a complete charge and then I put her back in the car. I didn't hook her up. I waited till morning to check the charge and voltage. The charge showed 100%but the voltage had gone down conciderably. Same as my phone. Lol. That being said. What is wrong with my baby!!! Oh, that's another funny thing my gage didn't show hot, but as I recollect I seen her overheating, and pulled over. The hole was weird, right behind the cam sensor a small Hole,it was the lower hose,I got a reins hose and replaced that.I will follow all the line, and see, Thanks guys....

I'm going at her again today if the wind dies down, high desert high winds ugh! I'm really at odds as to what's going on.I'll also check my plugs. I hope Rick's not right too Neil. but it's gotta come from someone if it is. I appreciate all your post guys, I'm really sad right now
,I've had my 850wagon for 15yrs. and she's never let me down. Only times when she wouldn't go was a fuel pump, which is an easy fix. Ok guys Thanks, I'll keep ya posted.

Take plugs out and turn over by hand. It should turn easily. Then do compression test to make sure pistons cylinders are still good

Hello, is anyone there??? Well the winds were too high to do much but I did hook the battery back up, and I've noticed that each time I try to start her a yellow/orange arrow pops up. Will check all grounds tomorrow.

So I'm thinking PNP, I can't find any ground wires or nothing looks over corroded, I hope that's a good starter, it's new. But when doing the manifold it was so much easier to get to with the manifold off. I'm not one for testing but how do I know if that starter is any good when it won't start. I'm alone on this one. How can I tell if the starter is spinning. I'm getting just a little po'ed. Thank you....oh yeah the plugs it looks like my condenser cap on my plugs might be cracked. Could be huh. That's where I'll begin, the plugs today. Already started this post may as well finish it on that note!
