Yes, CEL is on, and I believe you read codes by pushing some sequence on a button on a little box in the engine compartment. I have yet to find this box though :shock:

Right now I am focusing on doing an instrument cluster overhaul with new odo gears, temp sensor bypass and new bulbs.
The Self-Diagnostic unit should be on the drivers side behind the strut tower.

I made some real progress this week fixing the instrument cluster. Now I can see the instruments at night, have a working odometer and the temp gauge displays no more erratic behavior.

I also replaced the little bulb in the shifter console.

It's so nice to work on this car. Taking the instrument cluster out takes maybe 5 minutes. I am starting to enjoy this car for many reasons.

Next is replacing various bulbs in switches and the heater controls.
