Looking good. How do you like today's lumber prices?
I see you also carefully hide your injury side.

I got lucky and ordered the entire load one month before the prices jacked last year m from our local yard. Here’s customer service for you...no picking and loading......drive up and they load...

Have to say, if you fall for the big box price game, here’s what you get.

About a 18% saving from a yard.

Chipped, split, and warped lumber on the rack , dumped by the last guy who sorted through trying to find decent wood

Dragging the stuff off the rack, loading onto cart, then loading onto car

Buying 25% overrun to cover the inevitable POS you didn’t see

Vs….

Anne loads by pallet load 5 minutes after arrival, and out of 300 pieces I had one split.

I always pick my own boards. I have been frequenting lumber yards since about 10 years old. Back in the early 70's, I built several small portable hog sheds (8 x 16 foot). As I recall a good size truck load for one of these sheds was under $150. The 4 x 6 inch x 20 foot skids were outrageous price of about $25.
Times change.

My whole working life has been spent around lumber, and I can tell you with out any doubt that lumber is much worse now than it was 30 or 40 years ago. I have a pile of lumber in a shipping container that I have collected from jobs over the years. A lot of it is 100 years old or more. If you hit a board of that stuff with a hammer ( they still make those things, but now they're just for banging things around ) the wood sings like steel. Really really tight ( less that 1/16" ) growth rings. Now go and look at " new " lumber, and those same rings are a 1/4" - 3/8" apart ! And the moisture content is off the charts. Mold is common. Hell they still have leaves on them. The more moisture in there, the more the board will warp, twist and crack as it dries. The larger the piece of lumber, the bigger the problem. I talked to a forester once about it, and he told me that a lot of it is due to hormone feeding of the trees in order to speed up growth. Lovely. You can spend a lot of time just going through a framing job straightening and replacing studs etc. Total garbage. And guess who has to pay for that time and material ?
I think fabricated oriented strand lumber will end up being the way to go in the future.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

Even in dry AZ you see that?

I saved up for 6 months for a few 2x4s.
We have a locally owned, non-chain lumber yard here that has everything inside, and the quality is generally good.
