94 850 T SeaFoam?

Post by Stevieb »

I have been reading around and heard about seafoam. My turbo pressure has been poor from some time (Gauge barely makes it into white area) and I was curious if using this in my vacuum line would increase my pressure by sealing any leaks. Again I'm just curious to know if this is beneficial. My 850 has roughly 170k on it.

Seafoam does not seal leaks. It is a cleaning agent designed to remove carbon and other buildup.

At least you will be able to see the broken vacuum lines once you pull the throttle cam cover off to get to the vac tree to suck in the seafoam.

:D

Chances are your low boost is due to a vacuum leak.

Well I suppose the good news is I now am aware seafoam is not going to fix any vacuum leaks. The bad news is my pressure is still low and there are still going to be vacuum leaks :p Thanks guys

Look closely at your Intercooler hoses. I had greatly reduced turbo boost and thought I had a bad turbo. For a totally different reason I pulled off the Hose leading into the Throttle Body and saw Swiss cheese instead of solid rubber in the bottom of the tube. Said tube looked OK from the outside. When I replaced all of the Intercooler tubes I was able to get max boost from the car!! :D
