C&C Motors, Northboro, MA --2008 rating

Not sure if this belongs in this section or not, but wanted to warn folks about

C&C Motors
7 Belmont St.
Shrewsbury / Northboro, MA 01532
owner: Stephen / Steve Christopher
phone: (508) 344-1112 / 508 344 1112

I bought my Volvo 240 / 245 from him about two months ago. The guy is a totally unorganized flake and still owes me seatbelts and hardware to finish the installation of my 3rd row seat.

He also claimed a 3 month warranty, and won't return my emails about the aux cooling fan I found to be hanging by bread ties and missing a blade.

Basically he seems to be a stereotypical shyster used car salesman. But maybe worse because he makes it sound like he knows Volvos. He's admittedly disorganized, so it's no wonder he has a dump of a used car lot.

Anyway, here's the timeline:

- Sept 2: Seller agrees to sell vehicle with 3rd seat and belts installed for $200 extra
- Sept 13: Buyer travels 800 miles to pick up car and the belts & brackets are not installed and not available? Agreement to take $25 off the price if the remaining parts are shipped on Sept 15th.
- Sept 15: Parts not shipped by seller.
- Sept 18: Seller will not answer phone and will only communicate by email. Seller will not refund $175 if the seat is shipped back at buyers expense
- Sept 20: Seller finally informs buyer the seat was not his and was only acting as a middleman. Seller commits to ship belts on Sept 22.
- Sept 22: Parts still not shipped
- Sept 24: Seller is too busy, but claims to make the shipment his #1 priority
- Sept 30: Filed a report with the Better Business Bureau
- Oct 9: Still no parts
- Oct 14: First empty response to BBB complaint:
"We are currently investigating the details involving Mr D_____ and his auxillary seat belt hardware. As per our conversation,we are fufilling are obligation to provide the harware to Mr.D_____.Further details on this matter will be provided and posted to this site as all accurate information is gathered and documented."
- Oct 23: Second empty response to BBB complaint:
"Upon delivery the customer was credited for the accessory belts. As a courtesy a set will be shipped upon availabilty at no charge. This is an item no longer avaialable from the manufacturer. As a matter of reference the price of the combo accessory optional seat with belts retailed at. $1750.00. "

I’ve spoken with Steve and he really does know a lot about Volvos. I also think he is honest. Could the original poster please update us on this issue? Was it resolved?

If you find an old thread, you can check status of the poster by clicking on the poster name in the upper right corner. You have to be signed in to do this. Then you can search the persons posts to see if they have made any recent posts. This will tell you if they are likely still checking MVS or have moved on.

In this case the person made 5 posts in the first month and never posted again. Likely Missing In Action.

But you knew all of this.

Changed title to reflect age. We don’t delete posts here as a matter of courtesy so the reader should use recent due diligence to evaluate vendors, and certainly not a single date point more than 13 year old

Can I save some money and use the same oil in the engine and transmission?

The following post from J_Westy seems to conflict his original comments...
