Hi,
I am having wheel noise in the front. I thought it was a bearing, but there is no play, left to right or up and down.
I rotated the tire manually and hear no grinding.
I tried to steer right or left slightly to put/take off pressure, but no difference in noise level.
I jacked up car on stands and brought it up to 50kms and no real noise. I did notice some vibration on the spring (more than the other side)
Tried new tires, put on the winters and then it became a bit louder but that's do be expected.
Did notice some slight wobble in the cv axle, but not sure if that is normal. Here's a link to a small video
I was just going to bite bullet and replace the wheel hub to see if it solved the issue, but i remember my old mechanic telling me that it seemed bonded to the cv axle from rust and told me to be prepared for it when time comes.
Any thoughts? could really use some advise

Try adding some grease with a needle into the CV joint to see if the noise quiets down. Put the needle close as possible into the bearing rather just anywhere into the boot. I've used the Lucas Red on several cars. Buy one you are comfortable with. Will have a slight seepage without throwing a mess, usually clumps up at needle hole.mcu wrote: ↑04 Nov 2021, 11:36 Hi,

Find open road andj drive at 70-80 kph and swerve hard left and right, while listening.
You won’t feel play in these massively over engineered bearings even when bad.
