Managed to find enough stuff to qualify for free shipping. Started with a pair of these -

The price at https://usparts.volvocars.com/ was substantially higher; I cannot explain this stuff. I will not pretend it is supposed to make sense.
FCP et al. all say that number crosses to most of us, except maybe the Canyon Racers.
This is another number that even the Mother Ship says fits lots of cars.

I have bought from Annaplois before, and picked up in person on my way back across the Bay Bridge from DC, but they are now tacking on a "service/handling" charge; seems to be a flat rate $9.95. I took free shipping instead, and the bonus for me is no sales tax.

Volvo of Toronto has a 25% off parts wide until Sunday evening. Those EVAP valves are now just under $100 each!

It does make you wonder what Mr Shipping did in his political life.
Despite all the support he has from businesses, apparently he is still in jail.

Same thing at Volvo of Lisle, 20% plus free shipping if > $100. Prices are often cheaper at Lisle than other dealer sites. Except Tasca but they can be a hassle.

Are any other parts retailers offering good Cyber Monday deals?
I'm planning to spend $1000-$2500 to replace all of my shocks, struts, springs, etc and would like to maximize Cyber Monday deals. FCP is offering 5% off of a few of the small parts that I need. That's less than their 10% off on July 2021 ($50 off $500).
The Volvo brand sellers mentioned above surely can only sell the expensive Volvo versions of the parts, whereas Sachs or Bilstein might work just fine.

I don't know why, but things I order from FCP take ten days to get here, and in the last batch, they jammed the wipers into a box almost big enough. Not the first time I've found things bent by the box packers, not FedEx.
At this point, I price-check things I need with the dealer websites; if it's close, I would rather pick up parts on my way back from DC. Annapolis tends to be a bit less than Illinois for some reason.
FCP lists a Bilstein with numbers that cross to the ones I bought from the Mothership, but at $64 vs. $37.33 .

Send a note to customer service with your order number and I bet you can get some love. They take feedback pretty seriously.foggydogg wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 11:43 I don't know why, but things I order from FCP take ten days to get here, and in the last batch, they jammed the wipers into a box almost big enough. The question I always ask myself: Is it worth getting the price cheaper than FCP and giving up their warranty? There are some parts which I don't expect to fail in 10 years like headlights which I bought cheaper from Tasca. Other parts like calipers which fail in 3 years must be bought with the FCP warranty. Where do shocks, springs, struts fall on this?
FCP shipping was a few days slower during Oct than their typically fast shipping earlier in 2021. I usually get parts from them in four days, even during peak demand like their summer sale. I've spent thousands with them this year and everything arrived in perfect condition.

For us north of the 49th the warranty is not often worth it unless it is a very expensive part. Returning the bad parts are expensive. Sometimes they tell you just to junk them, but then anything that has a core charge just isn't worth buying from over the border.
If the part is reasonably priced at the dealer, and not a huge labor charge I buy and get them to fit the parts as they also have a lifetime warranty if they supply and fit parts.
Neil.

Hold on a minute. For Cyber Monday, usparts.volvocars.com is offering 30% off list price for parts with dealership pickup. The sale is taking 20% off and the store always takes another 10% off.
So a front spring which lists for $166 is $120 with dealership pickup, $131 ($118 plus $13 shipping) at Tasca, $140 ($129 plus $11 shipping) at VPWS, or $152 at FCP. This 30% off at the dealership seems like a great deal. Darn, how fast can I order the entire front and rear spring suspension for my car!

I never thought I'd hear people on this forum say this. And yet, it really makes sense. I spend huge amounts of time learning how to do the job and actually doing it. It would be technically cheaper to pay and get it done. But what will the dealership charge me for the part? List price, less (via online ordering), more (because they feel like it)??
