Years ago my kids snapped off one side of the retainers for the rear cupholders. It's always bugged me to know it was broken, but it wasn't until last week that I did something about it. Complete units can be found on eBay for $30-50. Not knowing what parts I needed, I purchased a complete unit. As it turns out, that wasn't necessary.
The part of the cup holder that has the plastic arms comes out easily. All you have to do is pull the cupholder to the fully opened position, reach underneath and press up while releasing two clips at each side on the bottom of the holder. It pops right up. Here's a side by side of my broken cupholder insert and the replacement that I removed from a used unit I got on eBay.
So you literally just have to remove the old one and press in the replacement. That's it. easy peasy.
Footnote. I don't know if anyone just sells the insert. I also noticed that you can remove 2 screws from the bottom side of the insert and disassemble the arms from the unit. This means you can replace just a single plastic arm that holds in your drink. Not sure if it's sold that way, but interesting thing to notee.
Anyhow, if you have broken cupholders, don't wait to fix it like I did. It's super simple.
