Follow up: The extra screws held the rear edge on the of the front belly pan and are concealed by the rear cover. When I dropped the rear pan, the error of my ways became clear. All restored.
A test drive yesterday was successful.

Good. I just put extra screws into the gas tank. That way, when I sell, my lawyer says I can advertised as all parts complete
